  1. I want elevated litterboxes, so there is no stooping over. With getting older or bad backs, legs or dizziness… I have a littermaid and i put it up on the box it came in and put a kitty stair next to the side. Much easier level to clean and I fixed the plastic box to be a funnel to a small bin below so I’m not buying all those plastic boxes. I would like something higher up tho.

  2. My best purchase was the Neakasa litter robot. It has a cool design, and when I placed it next to the regular clean cat litter box to give my cat a choice, she immediately jumped into the new robot. It’s silly to say that there’s nothing better than a regular litter box. You don’t have to clean the litter box every time and immediately after your cat uses it, the robot does that for you. As a result, my cat uses a clean toilet, and there’s no odor. Additionally, I can monitor when she uses it and track her weight, allowing me to keep an eye on her health.

  3. Cat litter is horrible to breathe in, and the stuff that isn’t as bad is so expensive. If I had a cat again, it’d be worth it to me.

  4. I also do not believe in auto liter boxes! Scooping the shit out is very important ! This way you stay connected to your pet in a way stronger way, and also you can analyze their shit and pee to prevent future issues! Analyzing their shit and pee is very important to catch early illnesses.

  5. Stainless steel instead of plastic…and if you want plastic…there are 100s available second hand. Let’s just try to avoid plastic stuff.

  6. 100% We’ve been offered to get one free for a video… we politely decline. Our cats don’t use automatic litter boxes, period.

  7. Thank you Jackson for telling the truth! I would never use an automatic box. If someone can’t squat down to clean a litter box, how can they squat down to clean the food bowl, to pick up their cat, to put their cat in the carrier? People keep saying this is for HUMANS with disabilities (really admitting that this isn’t for the cats), but we have to admit when we’re simply not able to do something. Life isn’t fair, and cats don’t deserve to die in these death trap automatic boxes.

  8. The only upgrade I made to the regular litter box was to get a metal square one to go with the square scooper. Why do they always sell oval litter boxes and sell square scoopers? They are just fine with it and I don’t mind scooping at all I’m with you!😊

  9. That’s not a litter box— That’s called a deadly box! And I’m not getting one myself. You can even make a DIY out of cartoon boxes. Lined in the bottom with plastic rice sack. That’s what we’re currently using for now, and it’s good, works perfectly.

  10. I disagree pretty strongly with most of this videos sentiments. What’s wrong with a little automation to make life easier? Do you only use a tub and wash board to wash your clothes? 😂

  11. I agree with everything that you are saying. I have one cat 🐈‍⬛ that we rescued. I sit on my walker & scoop up her stuff & throw it away. It’s not the most lavish of jobs but it needs to be done. When I can’t do it I have my son do it. Those automatic cat litter boxes to me seem lazy especially after reading some of the horrible reviews where they hurt the cats.

  12. Personally, scooping allows me to monitor my cat’s poop and therefore health, but the automatic was a game changer for my 84 year old grandma. Obviously getting down and scooping was not an option so while not ideal, the automatic litter boxes and food/water dispensers was how she cared for her cat. So unless the person is unable to clean a box, or even just temporarily while someone is pregnant, I feel like it’s a great alternative, but plan A should be a traditional box.

  13. I cat sit for my neighbor. It’s so funny that as soon as I clean it they get so excited and immediately do their business. I clean it daily and I swear they hold it until it’s been cleaned.😅

  14. I’ve seen some that were so badly designed they killed cats! I saw one video where the cat got his head caught in the rotating door. I was shaking just watching it and how all his cat siblings came running in terror but couldn’t help him. Fortunately his owner was home and managed to save him by dismantling the box. But others have not been so fortunate. I view scooping my kitties litter box every evening a labor of love. I would never ever buy one of those things!!😢

  15. Just pointing out why this argument is stupid: I can’t believe you would use a scoop to scoop out your litter box. What are you trying to avoid guardianship? Use your mouth like a REAL CAT OWNER.

  16. Idk if you’ll actually read this but I have two cats and I had two litter boxes for them and they’d use one to pee in, and one to poop in and my god cleaning just the one with pee I’m it was insane to scoop. So I went back down to one litter boxes, and now one of my cats poops on the outside of the box or next to my toilet. 🤦 And I can’t seem to break her from it

  17. I am sorry, I love you, but you might not have a lot of cats. If you have at least 6 cats, you would have to be constantly scooping out the dirty litter, which is extremely difficult for me as I am a senior and it is much harder than in my younger days. The litter robot is a game changer and my cats are happy using it.

  18. What kind of cat litten doyou use and it is very difficult to dispose the litter (the normal one) so please share some tips .
should I be dumping it directly into the ground ontop ofthe soil… But now that area is also full and Stinks😢

  19. My cat, Beignet, was rescued off of the street. He was thrown out to fend for himself in an environment of eagles and alligators. He only had one eye so he was very defenseless. After we invited him inside to live with us, he was amazed that we provided him with a water fountain. He was awestruck when he realized that the main litter box was automatic. He chooses to poop in the automatic box and pee in the manual box. Funny this is, all of my previous cats did the same thing!

  20. The automated litter box was extremely helpful while I was being treated for brain cancer as I wasn’t allowed near the litter box. My sister and brother-in-law work a lot so the automated litter box ensured that they always had a clean litter box no matter how many times the cats used it during the day. It was good for all of us.

  21. Honestly I have Fibromyalgia and i seriously lack the energy to do things at times but its especially bad when i have a flare up. I am considering one for this purpose not because i am too lazy to scoop and it will tell me their weight and toilet habits too.

  22. Sorry Jackson, i think there’s a lot of reasons for them too. As you can see on all the comments 😊

  23. You’re the God of cats man, but I 100% disagree with you on this one. Robot litters are awesome. I’ve had one for almost a decade and it’s amazing and extremely helpful since I travel a lot and don’t want my friends cat sitting to clean daily. Just buy the correct one. Plus for small apartments, they help a LOT with smell

  24. It’s important to do it manually because you’ll notice if there are changes that could point to health issues. So if you can physically do it, just do it.

  25. With my asthma the smell of the cat litter makes me feel worse ,so I’ll use the baking soda to neutralise the odours just for that reason, especially like myself if you also have sleep apnea and asthma together you fall asleep near were your cats sleep and half way through your sleep they take a shit you’re obviously going to wake up smelling their shit and it’s pretty nasty .🤢 🤮 No thank you I ain’t smelling that,I prefer to empty my litter boxes everyday as well and entirely put fresh litter in .Some people can also be really gross to save money and just scoop the shit to save litter but for me I much prefer keeping to the way I do their litter boxes for my benefit and for theirs .

  26. Its very convenient to have an auto litter box. The monitoring tells me things I wouldn’t have known otherwise. Like if one of the cats aren’t using it, I’d know which one. Plus sometimes I forget to clean, making the cats stay away, the automation helps considerably. Bending over a couple times to scoop aggravated my femoral nerve which inflammed it, causing a painful flair up for a few weeks too. So atleast I bend down a lot less.

  27. If you’re considering a litter robot, please DO NOT get the models that rotate vertically! You want a Litter Robot or something similar that rotates like a washing machine! The other models, which rotate upwards, have KILLED CATS. Do your research and don’t go with one that might actually cause harm to your pets!

  28. Cat litter, IMO, if you can’t be bothered to clean it yourself then why are you getting one? Cats are family and need constant maintenance. Sorry MissPink but you are in a relationship, the care should’ve been given to him or her, whatever your preference is. That was lazy on both of your parts. You cannot do it but condone auto litters and your partner neglected to do it themselves and finally you bought an automatic litter box. When my back went out, my hubby took over my three dogs, one cat and one bird. We never have gotten an auto litter. We had three kids and their friends in the house at the time too. Point being, love your animals to every extent or let someone else love and take care of them better than you can. Please don’t hate, this is really how I feel and I am not upset, I am expressing myself. (Something that is lost these days so I need to state that it is my expression)

  29. This comes off a bit ableist. Think about elderly people who have a beloved cat that might have trouble bending over or have issues with their hands. If there are actually flaws with the automated litter box then please educate people, but please remember that not everyone has the same abilities.

  30. I do NOT see the down side to my Litter Robot 4!! My cat NEVER touches pi$$ or $hit, litter is FRESH every time he uses it. Keeps track of weight and how often he goes. You do NOT smell cat box in my place AT ALL! I do NOT think this guy knows what he is talking about or he is joking ….not sure lol!!!!

  31. Disagree completely. One or two. It’s ok,maybe, but a crowder of cats, is a different story. The only reason I gave up on them, is they don’t work, long term. Expensive junk, that you spend more time working on, than the actual manuel litter box.

  32. Unpopular opinion. If you can fork up $700 for a litter box then why not. Youll see the medical situation in the waste bin.

  33. My cats will probably never be able to use automatic litters. One hates feeling enclosed and the other, still as an adult, will eat most litters. I always need open box with pine or paper pellet litter. Does anyone know if an automatic like this exists?

  34. "Why automate?" is kind of a baffling question, there was nothing wrong with horses but no one is complaining driving around in a car. I think having a machine that cleans up the kaka for you every single time the cat uses it is probably better than you as a human doing it once a day or as most people, 2-3 times a week because they forget or just don’t care sadly…plus we as humans don’t just use the toilet and leave, we flush because it is unpleasant and smells bad, hey I’m no cat but I’m sure they also are not entirely thrilled to enter their own sand-traps each time and the whole box smells so funky

  35. I just feel like most cats would be afraid of it, and therefore have accidents, and, I’ve heard some horrible things about them.

  36. I bought a litter robot 4 and by the second day I hated it as much as my cats did. If you think scooping is gross, try wiping poop and pee off the liner globe with your hands and a pet wipe all day every day. And try defecating in the center of that little round patch of litter in an enclosed device you can barely fit inside. My kittens found it cramped. Kittens! Imagine a Maine Coon or Bengal trying to use one of these things! I cannot. I should have listened to Jackson Galaxy.

  37. Automatic litter boxes are definitely for convenience, but the fact that some of them weigh and can give you an indication of change with your feline family members is really a great benefit. I don’t mind scooping daily but my husband is very averse and since I travel, a lot, I like being able to kee0 an eye on things when I am away.

  38. I have a regular litter box and an automatic litter box it has helped so much in my daily chore time don’t regret buying it, I have the HHOlove automatic litter box
